Sandcovery

Quickstart

Create your first sandbox through Sandcovery on your own provider account.

Sandcovery is one API for ephemeral sandboxes across E2B, Daytona, Vercel Sandbox, and Depot. You bring your own provider keys, and Sandcovery routes each create to a provider, falls back when a create fails, and destroys every sandbox at its TTL.

1. Create an account

Sign up, then open the dashboard.

2. Add a provider credential

Open Provider Credentials in the dashboard and add the key of at least one provider account you own. Sandcovery encrypts each credential at rest and never returns it. See Provider credentials for what each provider needs.

3. Create an API key

Open API Keys and create a key. The dashboard shows the full key once, so copy it then. Keys start with sand_.

export SANDCOVERY_API_KEY=sand_...

4. Create a sandbox

curl https://www.sandcovery.com/api/v1/sandboxes \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SANDCOVERY_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
  -d '{ "size": "2x4", "ttl_seconds": 600 }'

The response names the provider Sandcovery picked, the sandbox ID (sbx_ plus a UUID), and every create attempt it made.

5. Run a command and clean up

Run commands, read and write files, and open preview URLs through the same API. See Sandboxes.

When you are done, destroy the sandbox. If you forget, Sandcovery destroys it when its TTL ends, even if your client has exited.

Next steps

  • Routing: choose providers by price, start latency, or uptime.
  • API keys: set spend limits, provider allowlists, and concurrency caps.
  • SDKs and CLI: use TypeScript, Python, or the command line.
